My name is Conor Munro and I own Munro’s Maintenace Ltd. A garden/grounds maintenance & tree care company that operates in Dumbartonshire and the whole of Helensburgh peninsula.

The back story of how my business came to be, started by back in late 2021 after some years of working for other landscaping/maintenance companies. During my time at these companies, I grew evermore frustrated with the way things were run and how people got treated by managers and the folks in charge. After spending years of my life working hard and not feeling like I was getting treated fairly, I decided to start my own venture. Planning commenced over the Winter of 2021, figuring out all the tools I needed to get started, how I was going to get customers, how I was going to run things, and how I was just going to make this thing a reality. After months of thought/planning, I finally pulled the trigger and sunk all I had into getting a van and all the tools I needed to just get going. As imagined, the first year was very tough. It was a massive shock to the system not only having to do the job, but also having the full pressure of everything being up to me and needing to learn business so that this things could work out. The first couple of years was spent learning accounts, scheduling, building customer relations, editing videos, saving money and just generally developing my whole character to run a business. I finally found my groove and gained momentum in myself.

Fast forward to today, I have now been in business for over 4 years. I am an employer with a fantastic small team of guys. I have managed to build a great work culture and this has been one of the main reasons for the business’ growth in the past couple of years.

It has been very liberating to go from being a frustrated employee asking for the bare minimum, to being a leader where I can create a great place to work where everyone feels like they are being treated fairly. Along the way, I have documented this journey of growth via my Youtube channel (@ ConorMunro). Doing so, I have built up a great online presence and been able to interact with hundreds of different people who I have been able to help out to some small degree in navigating their own business journey. I am massively grateful for all the opportunities I have received and it only makes me excited to push on. Going forward, my goals are much the same as how it all began. I want to provide a good honest service that people can rely on, whilst creating a joyful work environment for people to succeed along side me. Every year brings new challenges, but this job is what makes me tick and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
